Our story
A pause
in the storm.
Selah Home for Kids is an emergency shelter in Yorkville, Illinois, for children in foster care. When a child has to leave home suddenly, we give them a safe, nurturing place to be, and the immediate love and care that helps them feel secure.
What we do
Care that starts the moment a child arrives.
01
Around-the-clock care
Trained staff are in the house 24 hours a day, every day, so there's always a caring adult close by.
02
A real home, not an institution
Warm bedrooms, family meals and steady routines help kids rest and feel at home during an uncertain time.
03
Case management and school support
Our case manager and education liaison works with caseworkers and schools so each child keeps learning and moves toward what's next.
